A few snippets of my latest horse pastel portrait =). I decided that for this project I would work with a couple of materials to show a variety in how the pastels can be applied whilst acheiving photo realism with each. I usually use PanPastels for base layers but for the horse I decided to just use pastel pencils from start to finish. The only PanPastels used for this was on the background. This shows that you can make a portrait just with pencils without the need for Pans or soft pastel sticks
