The Portland Homeless that live in our sewers. I’ve heard about them for years, but I’ve only met a few. Today I was shown one of the locations they go into. Once they enter, they close the sewer lid above them. My Homeless friend K-9 died nearby two years ago, entering a sewer after he spliced some wires and electrocuted himself. A homeless camp next to a business catches fire and burns the entire side of the building. This is why we must not allow camps like this to be on our sidewalks. We could solve this by having immediate sanctioned camping where the homeless can go and receive 24-7 wraparound type and help them recover and overcome any barriers that led them to the streets or kept them on the streets.
