The fast-food chain, which is headquartered in The Philippines, is known for its bone-in fried chicken (Chickenjoy Buckets), and chicken sandwiches.

The department stores have between 160,000 and 320,000 square feet of space. The entire mall has two floors, unlike some of the other Michigan malls. At the time of Lakeside Mall's grand opening, Hudson's, Lord and Taylor, Sears and JC Penney were the anchors. The mall also included an ice rink and movie theater.

May 8, 2010 · I was a cab driver in the 70's. I picked up three teenage boys at a house near the Red Barn resturant at 4501 Harlan near Lakeside shopping. They had gone on a "speed" induced crime spree. They had shot and mortally wounded the night manager at the Red Barn and stuffed him in the cooler to die. Turns out they had gone to school with him.
