Dec 7, 2011 · Hello - My dane will be 11 years old in January. We have had him since he was a baby and now we are experiencing senior issues. With his age he has lost hind end strength( he can still walk but hunkers down), and just recently lack of bowel control. The bowel control would only happen once every couple of weeks but now it is almost a daily basis.

He had very subtle differences in the way he carried himself, shifting most of his weight onto his other hind leg and he would prefer to only sit/lay in certain positions. I took him to my vet this weekend and she made the diagnosis with a physical examination.

Oct 16, 2008 · Hopefully, someone with more experience will chime in and help you out. Thats what makes this board so great! Eye boogers are common. As long as they don't change consistency or color (they shouldn't be yellow/green), they aren't a big deal. My dane, being the pampered pooch that he is, expects me to wipe his off every morning.

Jun 15, 2015 · A 4 runner was a squeeze for us with a family of 3 and a Dane. Besides, the taller your vehicle, the more trouble your pooch will have getting in and out. I have a friend with a Yukon XL and a Saint that has developed hip displaysia. She has to cart a set of steps around to get the dog in and out of the truck.
