The Utah Jazz aren't exactly title contenders, but at least they’ll try to win when and what they can this year. That's a step in the right direction, Tribune columnist Gordon Monson writes.
Utah was dialed in from deep in the first half (12-of-21) and moved the ball around the floor (22 assists on 28 made shots) to create a significant advantage at the break. With shots falling from beyond the arc, the Jazz were able to capitalize on increased floor spacing to get to the basket for 32 paint points as they created their 31-point lead.
But, there is one thing that the Clippers do not have an abundance of — youth. It just so happens that’s the one thing the 2025-26 Jazz roster has in spades, so the Jazz went into the regular season opener with a very simple gameplan: Run the wheels off the old guys, and that they did to the tune of a 129-108 victory.
