U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction and was recovering, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was transported by ambulance on Tuesday to a hospital in Washington, D.C., two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Noem was taken to the hospital after an allergic reaction, the Department of Homeland Security shared. “Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said.
