Five municipalities will continue their unusual tradition of trick-or-treating a day early instead of Halloween night.

Soon, children across the region will suit up in their finest costumes to make the honorable trek for their favorite candies. For most communities, trick or treat, called Beggars' Night by some, occurs this year from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, or Halloween night. Some areas, however, have adjusted the hours.

As parents get their trick-or-treaters ready to head out and collect goodies, local law enforcement agencies want families to be aware of the locations of sexual offenders and predators in their neighborhood.
