It took a couple weeks, but Mufasa is now king of the box office, with the Lion King prequel toppling Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” sputtered in second place at theaters in the United States and Canada. “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” was No. 1.

Mufasa: The Lion King has been in theaters since before Christmas last year, but the film has still proven to be a goliath at the box office by outlasting all of its biggest competitors.
