This major customer perk is going away on July 28, the retailer has announced: Say goodbye to price matching with Amazon and Walmart.
The changes come after a rough quarter for Target, with sales at stores open for at least a year tumbling 3.8% compared to the same quarter a year prior. This was partly because of tariff-related uncertainty as well as backlash from some customers about its reversal on diversity, equity and inclusion programs, executives said.
Under Target's current policy, the company will match the price of store-bought products if customers "then find the identical item for less at Target.com, Amazon, Walmart " or with the Target Circle loyalty program, allowing customers to make a request within 14 days of purchase.
There are seven Target stores that are slated to open Aug. 17. This store features Drive Up, Order Pickup and same-day delivery with Target Circle 360, as well as next-day delivery to the Jurupa Valley area. It also features an Apple store, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks and Target Optical.
