Penix is about to start in his first full season after taking over for Cousins in 2024, after a down year for the veteran. All offseason it was all about the Cousins trade rumors, but it looks like he will stick around and be the veteran leader to help out the young quarterback.

Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins reported for the first day of Falcons minicamp on Tuesday. Cousins, who signed a four-year, $180 million contract with $100 million guaranteed in March 2024, was benched after Week 14 last season and lost his starting job to rookie Michael Penix Jr.
