The Chiefs designated Isiah Pacheco to return from IR ahead of Week 11. It sounds like he will be ready to play in Week 12 against the Panthers.

Isiah Pacheco was the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting running back earlier this season but saw his 2024 campaign abruptly halted in Week 2 when he suffered a serious injury in the defending Super Bowl champions’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals. This forced the Chiefs to place Pacheco on their injured reserve list.

The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for the NFL’s most anticipated matchup in Week 12. While the team is locked in for the 4:25 PM ET clash against the Buffalo Bills, there’s also good news on Isiah Pacheco’s injury status.

The Chiefs enter Week 11 as the lone undefeated team in the NFL, and the two-time defending champions continue to get healthier. Running back Isiah Pacheco, who suffered a fractured fibula in Week 2 against the Bengals, returned to practice this week for the first time since the injury.

The Chiefs signed Kareem Hunt after Pacheco went down, and that move has paid off. Hunt, who is in his second stint in Kansas City, has rushed for 449 yards and five touchdowns in six games. He has averaged a modest 3.6 yards per carry, but he has been plenty effective.

Ten weeks after he was forced to leave the field, Isiah Pacheco is set to return to it. NFL insider Ian Rapoport has word that the Kansas City Chiefs are expecting Pacheco, their lead running back, to return to the active roster in time for Week 12.

While his presence has been missed, the Chiefs' offense has done an adequate job with Pacheco out of the lineup. A big reason why was the free agent pickup of Kareem Hunt, who as a rookie led the NFL in rushing as a member of the Chiefs. Hunt currently leads Kansas City with 449 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
