Centimeter by centimeter, Mondo Duplantis is soaring closer to the sky and securing his legacy as the greatest pole vaulter in history.

Sweden's Armand "Mondo Duplantis" lifted his pole vault world record to 6.27 meters in a World Athletics Indoor Tour meeting on Friday.

It was the 11th time Sweden's Armand Duplantis had broken the record by one centimeter since first claiming it with a leap of 6.16m in February 2020.

Armand Duplantis has now bettered the world record by a centimetre in each of his 11 times from 2020, and has broken it four times in the last 11 months.
