James Hurst retired this offseason, but he saw the separation between Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints locker room last year. He even went as far as to say some players wondered if Mickey Loomis would fire Allen at the end of the 2023 season.

Before that losing streak began Allen had an even 18-18 record as the Saints' head coach. Fortunes change fast in the NFL, though and no matter how much a coach might have accomplished in the past they're never more than one extended losing streak away from losing their jobs.
