Atlanta police arrested Billy Joe Cagle, of Cartersville, Georgia, before he was able to go through with it, likely saving several lives in the process.
The man, who authorities said had "mental challenges," had 27 rounds of ammunition and an AR-15 rifle in his truck.
Authorities in Atlanta said Billy Jo Cagle, 49, was surveilling a TSA checkpoint in the domestic south terminal before he was taken into custody.
