Another house in Rodanthe has collapsed into the ocean on the Outer Banks, temporarily closing off access to the beach.

The daily effects of strong winds, large waves, as well as rising sea levels — which are fueled by human-caused climate change — are causing beaches on the Outer Banks to wash away.

Another oceanfront home in North Carolina’s Outer Banks has collapsed. According to Cape Hatteras National Seashore, an occupied house located at 23241 Surf Side Drive in Rodanthe collapsed in the overnight hours between Thursday and Friday.
