DES MOINES, Iowa — Bennett Stirtz scored 25 points to lead Drake and Daniel Abreu sealed the victory with a 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining as the Bulldogs knocked off FGCU 63-61 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs came away with a two-point victory over FGCU on Saturday in a game that was a tight battle all night long.
Mitch Mascari scored 26 points to lead the Drake men's basketball team to a 66-51 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday at the Knapp Center. The Bulldogs are 2-0 to start the Ben McCollum era.
Bennett Stirtz and Cam Manyawu both added 13 points for Drake. Stirtz had four steals on the defensive end. Drake trailed by a point at halftime before outscoring SFA 41-25 in the second half.
