Eight months after Hurricane Helene swept through Chimney Rock, the tourist town still isn't ready to welcome summer visitors, putting residents who rely on the tourism industry in peril.

Chimney Rock Village is a tourism-based town about 30 miles southeast of Asheville in Rutherford County. Of the village's businesses, about a third were destroyed by Helene. All suffered damage.
