K'Andre Miller is eager to start work with the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes acquired the 25-year-old defenseman from the New York Rangers on Tuesday.

The New York Rangers were left with little choice once restricted free agent defenseman K’Andre Miller declined to re-sign with the team. With the threat of losing him looming, the team traded Miller to the Carolina Hurricanes, where he immediately signed a maximum eight-year extension, and turned to free agency to fill the gap.

After five seasons with New York Rangers, 25-year-old defenseman K’Andre Miller has a new team and new eight-year, $60 million contract.
