Luxury automaker Bentley unveiled a change to its “Beyond100" initiative on Thursday, announcing it will now keep manufacturing plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) until 2035.

Bentley has announced that it is revising its commitment to becoming an electric-only car brand to 2035 from 2030. The British brand’s decision reflects a similar delay followed by other brands – Volvo recently changed its plans on becoming an EV-only firm – though it’ll still look to introduce its first electric model in 2026.

Bentley only two years ago was planning to launch its first EV by the middle of the decade and follow it up with a new EV every year for the next four years, in order to become a fully electric brand by 2030.
