YouTube would like to restore ABC and ESPN while the two companies negotiate, saying, "We propose immediately restoring the Disney channels that our customers watch: ABC and the ESPN networks, while we continue to negotiate. Those are the channels that people want."

YouTube TV will drop ESPN, ABC and other Disney networks at midnight ET Thursday. Google and Disney remain far apart on a deal in a dispute over pricing.

The merger forms the second largest virtual pay-TV provider in the U.S. with an estimated six million subscribers.

Disney said the online pay-TV platform, which is owned by the tech giant Google and available only in the US, had refused to pay fair rates for the content, which also include National Geographic and the Disney channel.
