The Sacramento-based Kiki’s Chicken Place chain announced Tuesday that it is closing 10 locations and parting ways with several operators.

"The message for people is you can reduce the population of this species by getting rid of the smallest amount of water," said Aaron Devencenzi.

A person was shot in the head Tuesday afternoon in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County, officials said. Deputies were dispatched sometime before 12:30 p.m. to Morse Avenue and Lerwick Road.
