A manhunt ended in Texas when a Houston man accused of shooting and killing a deputy serving a warrant on him in the parking lot of a Dollar Tree, was fatally shot by police.

An officer was hospitalized and police were searching for one person after a shooting Thursday morning in southwest Houston, officials said. Officials with the Houston Police Department provided limited details about the shooting on Twitter, saying preliminary information was that someone had shot an officer from another agency and fled on foot.

A manhunt continues for the repeat violent offender who shot and killed a deputy serving a warrant Wednesday afternoon, Houston police say.
