Calgary forward Connor Zary has been suspended two games without pay for elbowing Vancouver defenseman Elias Pettersson during the Canucks’ 4-3 shootout victory over the Flames.

Connor Zary of the Calgary Flames has been one of the NHL’s most promising players during his first two years in the league. He scored 14 goals and 20 assists as a rookie in 2023-24, often taking advantage of his notable speed to get involved in the middle of the Flames’ offensive attack.

The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Flames forward two games for elbowing Vancouver Canucks defenceman Elias Pettersson. The incident took place in the first period of the Canucks’ shootout victory over the Flames,
