The Brewers capped off the regular season with a 5-0 loss to the New York Mets on Sunday afternoon at American Family Field, a result that was largely inconsequential to Milwaukee but imperative to the visitors.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza doesn’t feel his team is playing “tight,” despite their playoff chances dwindling. Instead, he believes Saturday’s 6-0 loss was more a credit to the Brewers, who utilized a bullpen day to virtually shut down New York’s bats.

They mustered two hits in a 6-0 loss to the Brewers on Saturday: Jose Iglesias’ single in the first and Starling Marte’s leadoff double in the fifth. After the latter, Milwaukee pitchers retired 15 of the next 16 batters to end the game.
