Met Office issues snow warning update as arctic blast set to batter large parts of Britain - Snow has now fallen across parts of the UK following the coldest night of the year since last winter

Up to 20cm of snow could hit the UK over the coming days in the country’s “first taste of winter”, the Met Office has said. The forecaster has issued several yellow weather warnings for snow and ice for parts of the UK between 4pm on Sunday and 10am Tuesday morning.

The Met Office has issued nearly two full days worth of weather warnings, with five parts of the UK currently affected by the latest yellow alerts.
