Seven years after Meghan Markle shut down her personal Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts, the Duchess of Sussex rejoined Instagram for the new year.

Markle’s return to Instagram comes almost five years after she and Harry made a final post on their joint page, @sussexroyal. “Thank you to this community — for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. Harry & Meghan,” the couple said in March 2020.

The Duchess of Sussex did not caption the carefree social media upload. She does not follow any other Instagram users from her account.

Meghan Markle is taking the new year seriously. She relaunched her social media presence on Jan. 1, 2025, with a return to Instagram after a five-year absence when she and Prince Harry exited the royal family and their @sussexroyal account went dark.
