Local school districts are speaking out in support of their immigrant communities as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducts raids in San Jose.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials were conducting an operation in the city on Sunday, Mayor Matt Mahan said in a statement. The San Jose Police Department was notified that ICE would be carrying out an operation Sunday earlier that morning.

The San Jose metro area leads the nation in new AI jobs per capita and tops the charts for new patents issued, including in AI and machine learning, where our metro generated more than double the number of new AI patents than San Francisco and Oakland combined.
