With Delhi and NCR's air quality deteriorating to the 'severe' category, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has swiftly imposed Stage-IV (Severe+) actions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

The air quality in New Delhi worsened to the 'severe plus' category with the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 400 in most places in the national capital. The AQI was highest in Najafgarh at 748,

India said on Sunday that it would tighten restrictions including on construction activities and vehicle movements in New Delhi and surrounding areas from Monday to combat worsening air quality.

All stations in Delhi recorded an AQI over 400 on Sunday, with Bawana (490), Ashok Vihar (487) and Wazirpur (483) appearing as the most polluted at the 7 pm mark.

As per Prana Air, Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital has reached 580 and has been termed as hazardous.
