Carnival Cruise Line is adjusting itineraries to avoid the path of Melissa, which intensified into a Category 5 hurricane on Monday. The company’s Brand Ambassador, John Heald, said that ships sailing to Jamaica and nearby destinations are being affected.

The cruise line seems to be making Wi-Fi plan price increases an annual end-of-year occurrence. Carnival last increased its Wi-Fi prices in December 2024, after raising them in December 2023.

There are no itinerary changes yet for Carnival ships due to Tropical Storm Melissa, but guests should stay alert for potential updates.

With Hurricane Melissa moving at speeds of 175 miles per hour and preparing to make landfall on the island nation of Jamaica by the afternoon of Oct. 28, governments are warning their citizens to put off travel, while airlines and cruise lines are calling off trips.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Brand Ambassador John Heald said that the company’s adults-only cruises are “extraordinarily popular” with passengers. In a social media update, he noted that the special sailings received positive feedback from the market but mentioned that Carnival will continue to offer multi-generational experiences.

Carnival Valor will sail year-round from Mobile, Ala., starting May 2027, on itineraries to The Bahamas, marking the first Conquest-class ship to homeport there.

Heald noted that most of Carnival’s early 2026 adults-only cruises are sold out and that people ask him every day if more will be added. The positive response leads him to believe that more of these sailings may come as Carnival executives realize that adults-only cruises can really have a place on a family cruise line.
