Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust is having a career year in 2024-25, becoming just the ninth player in franchise history to score at least 30 points in eight seasons.

Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists vs. Edmonton, as he passed Hall of Famer Joe Sakic to move into ninth on the NHL's career scoring list with 1,643 points.

Sidney Crosby continued his ascent up the NHL record books on Thursday night against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. In what has already been a historic season for the Penguins captain, he took sole possession of ninth place in all-time scoring in the NHL thanks to an assist on a Drew O'Connor goal which gave the Penguins a 4-1 lead in the first period.

Sidney Crosby moved up in the NHL record book and Bryan Rust ignited a four-goal outburst in the first period as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the visiting Edmonton Oilers 5-3 on Thursday. It was the Penguins' first win over the Oilers in more than five years.
