A woman has been arrested in Alabama in connection with the death of 3-year-old Ke’Torrius “K.J.” Starkes Jr., who died last week after a state-contracted worker left him unattended in a car for several hours in the sweltering summer heat.

An Alabama contract worker was arrested and criminally charged in connection to the death of a toddler who was left for hours inside a hot car, prosecutors said Friday

A 3-year-old child died after being left in a vehicle while in the care of a contractor for the Alabama Department of Human Resources, the Birmingham Police Department said in a press release. Ke’Torrius Starkes, from Bessemer, died on July 22, police and an attorney representing his family said.
