Mercedes-AMG is developing its first standalone high-performance SUV, "Born in Affalterbach" completely in-house, marking a first in its 57-year history. The off-roader will be built on the company's proprietary AMG.

The new model will go up against the massive Lotus Eletre and future Porsche full-size EV SUVs when it arrives in a few years.
