One of King Harold's manors appears twice in the famous Bayeux Tapestry, but only 948 years later have researchers finally identified the building's remains.
His coffin plate had a Latin inscription which can be translated "The remains of the Most Noble and Serene Prince Charles II, King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith etc.
