Some Central Texas school districts have adjusted their operations for Wednesday, Jan. 28, due to road conditions.

The coldest temperatures of this winter freeze event are expected Monday and Tuesday mornings across Central Texas.

"We want to remind the public that it is never ok to leave animals outside in freezing weather with no shelter, food, or water, especially babies," APD said.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott updated his disaster declaration for Texas counties as the state deals with severe winter weather affecting large portions of Texas this weekend. Houston-area counties, including Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Galveston, Austin and Brazoria, were added to the declaration.
