According to a recent park needs assessment report, a much higher share of San Francisco residents live near a public park compared to those in sprawling Los Angeles. The difference is so stark, in fact, that LA deemed San Francisco’s public parks system “aspirational.”

The Trump administration is sending federal agents to San Francisco following weeks of threats from the president to deploy the National Guard to the Bay Area.
