MALAGA, Spain — Rafael Nadal’s last match as a professional was a 6-4, 6-4 loss to No. 80 Botic van de Zandschulp in the Davis Cup as Spain was eliminated by the Netherlands on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the 22-time major winner emerged in Malaga. Nadal announced in October that he would suit up for his nation one final time at the Davis Cup Finals before stepping into retirement.
