Jefferson Parish officials are expected to announce on Monday, Feb. 3, the cancellation of all Mardi Gras parades.

The city’s two biggest parades are set to go on with earlier start times, shorter routes, and no marching bands, New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told reporters Monday.

The Krewe of Houmas is the latest Fat Tuesday parade being moved as a result of weather. Tuesday's weather includes the threat of dangerously high winds arriving early and thunderstorms in the afternoon, including the possibility of a few tornadoes and even hail.
