The Krewe of Orion heralded Mardi Gras with a parade through the streets of downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, followed by a masquerade ball at the Raising Cane's River Center.
The Krewe of Orion was founded in 1998 by two Baton Rouge men who loved Mardi Gras and wanted to bring it to the city. The name comes from the mythological hunter of the skies.
