The new stretch, which will cost an estimated Rs 8,000 crore, will cover 40 km, with 2 km underground near the airport, 20 km elevated, and 18 km at road level. This extension will be part of a larger greenfield road project, providing better connectivity to the growing Skill University area.

Hyderabad's Metro Rail network is set for a major expansion with a new 40-km line connecting Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to the proposed 'Fourth City' in Mucherla. The revised route will go via Aramghar and the upcoming high court campus on NH-44.

The detailed project reports (DPRs) for all the corridors of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project, which is expected to cost about Rs 32,237 crore, are being given final touches, a senior official said on Sunday.
