The Charlotte City Council will vote Monday to select Modern Aviation as the airport’s next operator of general and corporate aviation services. Modern Aviation will replace Wilson Air Center, which has been at Charlotte Douglas for 20 years. The airport says Modern Aviation will retain most if not all, existing personnel.

There are two major airports in North Carolina. They do vary however, in their availability, prices, and ease of travel. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is a major hub for American Airlines, offering a range of connections and travel options.

Hundreds of flights were canceled at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Wednesday due to winter weather across the East Coast. As of 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, FlightAware reported 186 were canceled and another 16 were delayed.

On Wednesday, nearly 700 flights in Charlotte were delayed or canceled. That impact continued on Thursday. The Richmond International Airport in Henrico County has reported several canceled and delayed flights due to winter weather on Wednesday, with some of its parking lots reaching full capacity.
