As of January 21, the island nation of Sri Lanka is open to tourists from all countries. Both of the country’s international airports reopened on the same day.

Sri Lanka will require the showing of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate compulsory for entry to public places starting from Jan. 1, in a renewed attempt to prevent another spike in infections.

According to COVID-19 reports from the Ministry of Health’s Epidemiological Unit, three people died from COVID-19 and 32 people tested positive in Sri Lanka last week (April 17–24).
