Ahead of the Thanksgiving season, the National Weather Service has issued a bit of a warning for all travelers, reminding everyone about how the weather can change quickly and significantly impact their travel plans.
The National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning at 12:36 p.m. on Thursday in effect until Saturday at 1 a.m. for Potter County.
Strong wind gusts and heavy snow are possible in some parts of Michigan this week, prompting weather alerts for several areas of the state.
Blizzard conditions are expected across a swath of the Upper Peninsula as a powerful storm sweeps across the state. For those areas, travel should be restricted to emergencies.
A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of western Iowa beginning Friday afternoon and running through early Sunday morning.
On Wednesday at 8:03 p.m. an updated lakeshore flood warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Thursday at 10 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Chautauqua County.
