Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud will miss Week 10 after suffering a concussion last week against the Denver Broncos. Davis Mills will start in his place against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Carolina held out running back Rico Dowdle from practice on Wednesday due to a quad injury. This comes after the back ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns in the upset win over Green Bay, so his status will certainly be worth monitoring. Meanwhile, guard Chandler Zavala (elbow) was also held out. Safety Lathan Ransom (illness) was limited.

The Jaguars' biggest losses, though, are Thomas and Lewis. Expect a larger role for rookie defensive end JT Tuimoloau and a practice squad enervation to help at defensive end Sunday.

Palmer injured his ankle and knee early in the second quarter of the team's Week 6 loss to the Falcons. He did not return to the game and was labeled as " week-to-week " by head coach Sean McDermott. He did not play in Week 8 or 9, but returned to practice on Wednesday in Week 10.
