Ballots in Harris County include special elections for the 18th Congressional District and a Houston City Council seat, along with local school board races and 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

Texans will head to the polls Tuesday to vote on state constitutional amendments and local elections. Here’s where to cast your ballot in Harris County.

Be sure you are in line by closing time. If you’re entering the line before 7 p.m., you’ll be allowed to vote even if you enter the ballot booth after 7 p.m.

Harris County in Texas will close nine of its 10 drive-through voting sites on Election Day to ensure votes are counted, Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins said on Twitter on Monday.

According to unofficial totals from the Harris County Clerk's Office, about 212,000 votes were cast during early voting, including 204,993 in-person votes and 7,111 mail-in ballots. That means almost 8% of the county's 2.7 million registered voters participated early.

Highfield, who became a U.S. citizen in 2001 after emigrating from England, says he’s been summoned seven times in the past 20 years — six times in Harris County and once for a local magistrate’s court.

Investigators said they have not found a motive for the shooting, but they believe it stemmed from some kind of drug transaction.
