The 49ers enter Sunday’s game in New Orleans seeking to open a season with back-to-back road wins like in 2019, ’21 and ’23.

Seattle answered the 49ers’ initial score with a touchdown of their own. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a 21-yard reception on the drive. Deommodore Lenoir had an unnecessary roughness penalty that was uncalled for and out of line.

Left tackle Trent Williams, dealing with a knee issue, was limited in practice on Friday, ahead of the 49ers’ Week 2 clash with the Saints.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Purdy will miss two to five weeks with a shoulder injury and a toe injury. That means, at minimum, backup quarterback Mac Jones will start for the Niners this week against the New Orleans Saints and next week against the Cardinals.

With familiar problems (injuries, kicking woes) popping up, the Niners are confident in their backup QB if Brock Purdy misses time.
