In February, Trump signed an executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” which gave federal agencies the ability to penalize schools for allowing transgender athletes to compete — something the Trump administration says violates Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits sexual discrimination.

The compromise is intended to dampen the firestorm building since last weekend when nearly three dozen protesters, including some hecklers, rallied during AB Hernandez’s track and field events.

Protestors gathered at the corner of the campus at Minnewawa and Nees avenues and held signs criticizing the state, the California Interscholastic Federation and the transgender student athlete.

The investigation was launched in response to a lawsuit alleging discrimination over the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports.

GIRLS' SPORTS – A transgender athlete finished in first place in multiple events at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Track Championship Masters Qualifiers over the weekend. The athlete is set to compete in the girls' long jump and triple jump state championships later this week.
