Disney/Raymond Liu Tim Allen is staging another reunion on his ABC sitcom Shifting Gears - but this time it is with fellow comedian Jay Leno. ABC announced that Leno, 74, will make a cameo as himself on an upcoming episode of Shifting Gears,

Natural, because Shifting Gears is the story of Allen’s character Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. So, on the ninth episode of the comedy, airing March 12, Leno plays himself, and he brings his car into Parker Customs for repair.

Sitcom icons Tim Allen, beloved for shows like Home Improvement and Last Man Standing, and Kat Dennings, known for her role in 2 Broke Girls, have joined forces in the all-new ABC comedy Shifting Gears—and we can’t get enough of their hilarious chemistry on-screen as a father-daughter duo!

Tim Allen is in his happy place. He's leaving the Disney lot in Burbank, California, after another day of shooting his new hit ABC sitcom, "Shifting Gears" (Wednesdays, 8 EST/PST and streaming the next day on Hulu), and hopping into his 1,000-horse power Tesla Plaid. (Cue that signature Neanderthal grunt.)

Tim Allen recently launched his third starring sitcom, Shifting Gears, which has already become a smash hit in the ratings. But at 71, Allen realizes that his time on network television may be coming to an end.

Ultimately, it's working. Kat Dennings is a great live studio audience sparring partner, and the two of them have a real-life commonality as well. Shifting Gears already hit a milestone at ABC, so here's hoping it stays on the air long enough to reach a future where there's some sitcom crossover like on Last Man Standing.
