ARLINGTON — Texas Rangers infielder Jake Burger was activated from the 10-day Injured List Wednesday to take the place of third baseman Josh Jung, who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock. Burger had been on the injured list since June 21 with an oblique injury.

The Texas Rangers have sent struggling third baseman Josh Jung to Triple-A Round Rock. They made the move Wednesday when activating first baseman Jake Burger from the 10-day injured list.

This is a performance-based game. The Rangers' front office and coaching staff have said that many times this year. That’s never been more true than on Wednesday, when Rangers’ 2023 All-Star third baseman Josh Jung was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
