Mike Keith will be on the job as the new “Voice of the Vols” for Tennessee next week. But he won’t be behind a microphone. Instead, he’ll be getting in some early prep work with Tennessee Basketball and brushing up on his basketball broadcasting.

Mike Keith is returning to the University of Tennessee as the Voice of the Vols, Tennessee vice chancellor and director of athletics Danny White announced on Thursday. Keith replaces Bob Kesling who announced he will retire in April.

Mike Keith, who has been the radio voice of the Tennessee Titans for nearly three decades, will return to his alma mater to call Tennessee Volunteers football and basketball, sources briefed on the decision said.
