Well, hey there, Penn State football fans. It’s been a little bit since we chatted. The PSU news never stops coming, right? Let’s turn to the latest bit of news: Ja’Juan Seider (Notre Dame) is out, and Stan Drayton is James Franklin’s new running backs coach.

Drayton is a coaching veteran who has won three national championships, one as a player, and has head-coaching and NFL experience.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State assistant coach Stan Drayton is headed to State College. Drayton was named Penn State’s running backs coach earlier in the week after a three-year stint as the head coach at Temple. He returns to the Big Ten to coach for a team with national title aspirations in 2025, and one of the nation’s best backfields.

Seider’s name, though, remained in the Penn State staff directory for quite some time after his reported hiring at Notre Dame. Finally, the Fighting Irish have officially welcomed Seider to South Bend. He will also serve as the associate head coach in addition to his running backs role.

Former Temple head football coach Stan Drayton reportedly will replace Ja’Juan Seider as Penn State running backs coach. Pete Thamel of ESPN reported Friday that the 53-year-old Drayton had signed a multi-year deal to join the Nittany Lions staff. Other outlets, though, reported that he will sign a one-year contract.

Three months after being fired as Temple's head coach, Drayton will replace former Penn State running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider, who departed for Notre Dame.

After seven years at Penn State, Ja'Juan Seider is offcially the running backs coach and associate head coach at Notre Dame.
